7 Deadly Distortion Tools The Low-Level Manipulators and Gamers Use on You

manipulation, game, exhaustion

6. Exaggeration

Indian corporate employees, who are good for nothing, and they know that they are good for nothing, exaggerate their pins to pens, pens too (___?___), (___?___) to diamond, diamond to the crown. Exaggeration can be directed at the bosses to make those manipulative bosses feel good or maybe self-directed to convince themselves how relevant and competent that pin is (which too is stolen by the way from the colleague’s desk), and that no one could create something as extraordinary as that pin.

Sales VPs in startups are a classic example of this. Good identification of exaggeration is Name-dropping.

Sales VP: “Today I met our health minister. It was so hard. After trying for last 3 months I could manage this meeting(read I did not work a shit for last three months), if this deal happens then we will be a quadrillion dollar company. My college friend is the son in law of our health minister. ”
You: “Wow, Sadhu Sadhu”

The health minister met public in the public darbar BTW, and they have no problems in photographs.

7. Detraction

Detractors are the lowest losers. Often this is where the whole journey of graduating as a manipulator starts, mostly in schools and colleges. You study and someone you perceive as your friend will call you to play with him. You do coding and someone will call you to talk. Mostly the detractors are the lowest productive people and they hate you for your productivity. They would do anything and everything to prevent you from being productive.

Drama queens are the common detractors, who want the entire world to remain preoccupied with their drama. Whenever you have an important meeting or deal, their drama will start.

Drama Queen: “Its being so long that you have taken me to dinner. Can we go for a dinner tonight?”
You: “But you know that I have final project delivery date tomorrow, lets go day after”

Drama Queen: “I knew you will say this, you have time for everything other than me, everything else is your priority other than me”😭

And when you finally buy the ticket of the drama she tells herself, see I am not the only ideal one, I have stress, and so I handle stress, put under stress anyone would become unproductive!
