At an average of 100 students per course, and assuming a maximum course fee same as the annual salary in the job relevant to the course, we can estimate an average revenue of $1.2 Million from the course fees, in a $86 Billion industry, with projected CAGR of 20.1%.

SWOT of UKCOH

  1. The strength of UKCOH is the courses in pure science, which enables the students to get jobs faster in the relevant sectors, and therefore the courses will attract the students. The college has facilities, infrastructure.

  1. The key weakness of UKCOH is not offering a PhD program, and therefore not having a research lab and facility. And therefore missing out on a huge revenue through research programs and grants. 19 US colleges spent on an average $1 Billion annually on R&D, out of which 53% were attributed by the federal government itself[1]. Total $81 Billion was R&D spending by top US colleges, almost equal to the average global market size that UKCOH is playing in. Furthermore, UKCOH is missing out big on technologies.

  1. Key Opportunities of UKCOH:- Imagine that UKCOH has a digital health and mHealth department, offering only Masters and PhD. With an annual salary $158,000 of a digital scientist, in digital health market of $141 Billion, growing at 17.4%, a potential annual research project of $10 Million to $100 Million can be brought through the research programs. Also 10 PhD scholars can bring a revenue of $ 0.5 Million. Research also offers future revenue through patents, research projects by leading health organizations.

  1. Key Threat of UKCOH: With world continuously moving digital, healthcare is shifting more towards home health from hospital health, and digital and mHealth are the future. US hospitals lost over $120 Billion since 2020, and the patient volume is constantly declining. Increased salaries of professors, in a declining job market driving a low demand in students can be the potential threat.

The Story

The Story of Pullella Gopichand Nimmagada Badminton Academy

Pullella Gopichand won the All England Badminton Championship in 2001, the second Indian player, after Prakash Padukone. Gopichand did not have much money to support his career. He went from country to country to play club matches to support himself. He collected the wasted shuttle and would carry minimum dresses in his luggage so that he could bring as many shuttles back home as possible.

He had a knee injury that threatened to end his career and did not have any money for the surgery. A Delhi surgeon did his surgery, of about 1 Crore, and told him that when he wins All England, he could payback. Gopichand went on to win the all England, just to pay back the surgery cost.

After that, he was given land by the Andhra government to set up a badminton academy in Hyderabad. Even after selling his home, wife, and mother’s jewelry, he couldn’t arrange enough money for setting up the badminton Academy.

Nimmagadda Prasad, a Hyderabad Businessman then sponsored the Badminton Academy, which became Pullella Gopichand Nimmagada Badminton Academy.

Established in 2008, the academy changed Indian badminton forever, bringing three Olympic medals for India since its establishment, alongside taking India to the top of the Badminton, right behind China.

Nimmagadda Business sour, and he went on to change the course of several businesses, including Care hospital, that was later acquired. Nimmagada also acquired an aging pharma company, turning it into a successful company named Matric pharma. The name, fame, publicity that Nimmagada got through the badminton players participating in the tournaments all across the world, took his businesses to the globe, and made him a household name through Stalwarts like PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal.

Gopichand had the fire in the Belly, talent, that India lagged in sports other than cricket. Nimmagada had money but not the name to spread his business globally. Both of them joined to grow their respective domains.

The Acculi Story

Rupam Das is an innovator with over 100 innovations, an Intel Software Innovator, Intel Pioneer & Trialblazor, IBM champion, Codeproject MVP, and winner of several national and international awards. After taking care of his father for five years, who was suffering from prolonged Diabetes, he lost his entire earnings. Finally in 2008, after his father’s demise, he lost hope in healthcare.

Since then he has run his company Integrated Ideas, worked in the night shift as an ECG technician, analyst, and trained under several leading and renowned cardiologists. He wrote algorithms to make better sense of medical data.

He started Acculi Labs in 2017 and ever since has been managing the company with tough financial challenges. And yet, not giving up, and growing the company with funds arranged from various government grants and research programs. He and his small team have served 1494 COVID patients in the last two years, saving 1493 patients, with only one hospitalization and one mortality.

Dr. Subhagata was a practicing Gynec surgeon when he completely changed his domain and did his PhD in computer science from IIT KGP to understand and make better sense of Data and AI. Having served in various research projects across the globe, including WHO, finally, both of them decided to come together to take the Acculi story forward.

Acculi Labs has returned investor money in 2020, when the investors wanted the company to scale its COVID solution, without a proper multi-stage trial. A principled company that doesn’t take any cut from Pharma, Hospital Reference, and Path Labs.

We have minimum finance, but maximum Intellectual property and brain in the Digital Healthcare industry today.

Example:- Acculi Kundu Digital Health Accelerator. This will be established inline with Ycombinator Accelerator in the Sillicon valley, that today has over $400 Billion Market Value.
    1. This Accelerator would invest 14 lakh each in 10 early stage healthcare technology companies, taking 6% of their equity.

  3. We want to build a network of trained medical staff, who can take the healthcare to home on a call. They can do immidiate diagnosis, therapeutics, for mostly senior citizens.
  4. 2000 young youth would be trained with Lyfas and other technolgies. They will reach to the patient’s home just by a call, and would provide the service immidiately.

Proposal B (Has Less Market Potential)

  1. Implement Digital Health Department and Research Center in UKCOH, thereby making the department worth $100 Million through research and development.
  2. Going forward, making UKCOH a healthcare incubator for early stage US healthcare projects.
  3. The advantage with India based technology development and scaling is that, it will use the best successful Industry model “Make in India, Sell in US”, which would be hard to achieve in US.
  4. If the same is implemented in US, with $15 Million investment, we can only establish a research center and Digital Health Course which would take around 1 year to establish.
  5. We can go to US and establish the department, and research facilities. However, research and development cost, budget will all inflate.

Timeline

With almost 5 VCs and HNIs negotiating with Acculi at this moment, due to our momentum and influential leadership position in the global digital market, and also have the top two brains of digital healthcare driving the company, we request Mr. Kundu to evaluate the proposal in 30-60 day’s timeline. We can assure you that this would be one of the opportunities of a lifetime for Mr. Kundu. We assure you that we wouldn’t be talking to any other investors for this time period till he takes a decision on the deal.

Conclusion

We invite Mr. Kundu to become the pioneer in Science, Technology, Research, and Affordable Digital Healthcare, with an Accountable Investment, where a team of Indian middle-class honest group of entrepreneurs, with skill, vision, fire in belly will honor the investment and the mentoring of Mr. Kundu and help him to make his parent’s name a household name in India.
