Description of the Instrument PFAI
The PFAI1(2002)ย Multidimensional Fear of Failure Measurement: The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory,ย Journal of Applied Sport Psychology,ย 14:2,ย 76-90,ย DOI:ย 10.1080/10413200252907752 measures the strength of individualsโ beliefs in five aversive consequences of failing. Scores are provided for each of these five lower-order fears of failing: (a) fear of experiencing shame and embarrassment, (b) fear of devaluing oneโs self-estimate, (c) fear of having an uncertain future, (d) fear of important others losing interest, and (e) fear of upsetting important others. ย
These scores are moderate- to strongly correlated with each other, and their common variance can be modeled with a single higher-order factor representing a general fear of failure. This general fear of failure can be interpreted as the strength of an individualโs belief that failure is generally associated with aversive consequences.
What are the consequences of Fear of Failure?
Fear is a phenomenon of our subconscious mind. Past experiences, memories, and emotions construct our perception of ourselves and the world. We are often not aware of these thoughts and feelings that construct the way our brain functions. Many times our psychology is an outcome of our childhood. Because our brain was underdeveloped in childhood and we did not have as much rationalization ability in childhood as we have now, we often think that all our fear and concerns are real, whereas they are merely emotional states replicated by our brain based on similar situations in childhood.
Fear of failure:-
- Force us to set much smaller targets and goals than we all can.
- Fear of failure stops us from taking risks and doing what we are passionate about.ย
- Fear of failure causes insecurity and makes us judgemental personality.
- Fear of failure gives rise to envy and hate, as we often feel extremely aggressive whenever we hear good news from others.ย
- Fear of failure makes us hateful.
- Fear of failure increases our inner worries and gives rise to depression.
- Fear of failure leads to decision anxiety and may cause significant mental trauma and regret for the rest of your life.ย
- Fear of failure may cause anxiety, which may later give rise to impulsivity and panic attacks.ย
What is the benefit of taking the Fear of Failure Test?
By bringing the concerns of the subconscious and unconscious mind to our conscious brain, we convert fear into a problem, which our brain can use for problem-solving. Because the conscious brain experiences the world in the current time, your emotions and feelings are much different from the subconscious brain, which mainly depends upon past experiences. When your brain sees fear as just a problem, its anxiety reduces, and anxiety becomes a problem statement for the brain. Brain allocates more resources to help you overcome challenges.
This test will give you a detailed and elaborated understanding of your inner world and the insecurities holding you back. Understand your inner world, follow our therapeutics and take control of your life.

What is the objective of taking a self-screening mental health test online?
We know about cars and stars more than we know ourselves. From childhood, people mostly ask us, "what do you want to become," or "what do you do?" but rarely anyone has ever wanted to know who we are. We know very little about ourselves, which is why when we struggle with life and relationships, we do not get the results we expect even after hard work; when people cheat us or betray us, we blame others or our destiny.
- We must always continue to know ourselves.
- The more we know about ourselves, the better we will be able to interact with the world.
- Without knowing our limitations in both qualitative as well as quantitative ways, we can not improve.
- If we do not improve and grow in life, we will always shrink and become ill.
- It is often uncomfortable to discuss our real thoughts, feelings, and insecurities, even with psychologists; we are often unaware of our actual thinking.
- Because our thoughts, feelings, and situations in life change all the time, if you take this test ten times, every time, you may get different results.
- Therefore a self-assessment and screening test is a great way to know yourself and know if there are any problems at the early stage so that you can use the Lyfas recommendation therapeutics to start improving.
- If you keep thinking about a problem and illness, you will always remain ill; however, if you start knowing yourself, you will start growing; once you grow in life, make Lyfas part of your growth journey.
