A. Literal Meaning of Singularity
Singularity is the center of a black hole, a tiny point with infinite mass where space and time collapses.
B. Lateral Meaning of Singularity
So singularity refers to something where all our energy and our emotions meet. It is something that makes us feel timeless, and as big as the universe.
Example 1: Mahabharata
In Mahabharata, when Krishna went as a peace messenger to Dhritarashtra, Duryadhana wanted him to be captured. Krishna increased his size to massive larger than life. Dharma was singularity for Krishna.
Philosophical sense of singularity
It is something that you can do before death. It is something for which you can die. It is something which you can do without money, and continue to do for your whole life.
Example of Philosophical Singularity: Radha and Krishna Communication
When Radha complains to Krishna “Raghav, you don’t have time for me, because you have so many Shakha, but who do I have other than you?”
Krishna says “I am so big inside you Radha, that real I is too small to the I in you. Not that I don’t love you, but you can’t feel because the inner I is too infinitesum.”
Singularity for different individuals
So, the singularity was “Love” for Radha. Singularity was Space & Time for Einstein. Singularity was Signals and Power for Tesla. Logic was singularity for Aristotle(he lived his entire life trying to solve all the problems and model all the problems with Logic). Music was singularity for RD Barman.
C. How to find our Singularity?
There is something in all of us for which we do not need any energy, which we can keep doing without getting tired, for which we do not appear to put any effort(appears casual and yet extraordinary).
You may observe that at times you would feel immensely aggressive. You may have to push yourself to achieve things, to study hard. You may get irritated. You will feel as if you are not you and you are going through the motion as if there is someone else in you. That is a state most human beings live in.
You may feel the chain of negative emotions(particularly guilt and shame) and would see that in many things you do, you do not hurt others. But there will be times when you will collapse into a small little child of not more than three years old. Extreme pain at times may take you to that state. That is a singularity. A version of you, preserved within you that is timeless.
- The feeling of being needed and cared for by someone, the ability to just do nothing, and love infinitely will be a singularity of even that core. And then when you recall what was that one thing you did in that earliest childhood (draw, sing, play with clay anything), and when you do that, you will realize that you are not aging.
- That you are not feeling tired, that you lost the sense of time and others, that there is infinite gravity between you and yourself. You may also observe that when you suddenly remember some past memories, and there are people around who are interested, you will share those stories with extreme energy(like college days).
- And then when you remember some sad events from life, you would rationalize them with other stories and are not able to share them or cry with others.
- Say someone did something harsh to you in childhood. But there are also positive memories. So you might not feel hate for the person as the positivity will mask the negative. So those events stay in your heart, and subconscious. At times you will feel heavy. That is when such extreme feelings are denied by us. People often live a life that others want them to live(mostly for their own benefit).
- Singularity is breaking all these wires and becoming integrated with the self where no events in life have any ifs and buts attached to them.
Key components of inner-self
Reality, peace, and an indivisible state of the inner self. So, search for your childhood, particularly the events that made you to “If I do this, people will love and respect me more.” Spend more time with yourself, leave mobile, and think of yourself(not overthinking), but plain simple events in life.
You will meet the singularity, that is deeply embedded inside your heart, the unbreakable you, the vulnerable you, the happiest you, the real you. This thread should probably give you a direction on how to pursue your core, the point that is beyond life and death. (I wrote this because you have shown a curiosity to learn.
D. Conclusion
Singularity is not something, you will discover soon. It is not something that you will find easily. This will come through a process of elimination. Eliminating unnecessary people, pursuits, and materials from life will take you slowly toward absolute fundamentals. However if you walk in the search of it, daily and continuously, you will meet the point where your heart, soul, mind, body, childhood, memories collapse into a point one day.
awesome read
and when you find your singularity , you are in ‘Nirmal Anand’.
Thank you so much @Chanda jain for sharing your thoughts about singularity, and yes, when we find it, we become “Nirmal Anand”
